Broadband
People are
sending larger and LARGER emails (lots of pictures of
the summer holidays etc). Websites contain alot more
pictures and other multimedia information all of this
means that a simple dial-up connection is sometimes not
up to the job.
Another
reasons we are seeing
people go to broadband is to free up the phone line.
With a broadband enabled phone you can make or receive a
call whilst the internet is being used.

Backups
Backups, what backups ? A very common statement. A backup can be as
simple as a paper copy of the important document your can't be
without. The main thing to think about is that computers are not
infallible, and what would you do if we told you that we couldn't
repair it. The main thing to understand about a backup is that it
only works if the information that is valuable to you is in TWO
places. As an example - buying an external hard drive and
transferring all your important photos on to it, and then freeing up
the space they occupied on the computer. This sounds great BUT the
problem has only been moved. I.E. the chances of the external hard
drive failing are pretty much the same as your computer failing. The
ideal answer is to keep the data on the computer as well as on the
external hard drive.
We can design a backup system that will
meet all your requirements. This can be as simple as a £10 USB
memory stick or as complicated as an external hard drive with built
in protection in the form of a dual hard drive configuration. We can
even arrange for your data to be transferred over broadband to a
secure remote backup location.
New PC
ICS is a Dell partner and as such we can offer discounts
on some of the Dell equipment. If you don't want Dell we
can specify any other make and model that you would
prefer. We will quote the PC that we think you need and
we can then order it when you are happy with the quote.
When the PC is delivered we can install it, and transfer
any information across from your old PC.
Website Design and Hosting
Our website designers can take the information from you,
and design your website the way you want it. We can then
Host the website for you and provide email address to
match the website. The first thing to think about before
designing the website is thinking of the name, or domain
name as it is called. For us the name Instant Computer
Solutions became
www.instantcomputersolutions.co.uk the
instantcomputersolutions.co.uk is our domain name. We
can register the name you choose for you and it then
becomes your property that nobody else can take from
you. Be careful as it is common practise for people to
register a domain name that you are looking for and then
sell it back to you for a lot of money so if you have an
idea of the name give us a call and we can register it
straight away to stop anybody else grabbing it. |
